There will be a special collection for Animate Youth after Mass next Sunday.  Gift Aid envelopes are available in the porch.  Gift aiding your donation means that more of your money will go to Animate Youth and less to the tax man!

LITTLE CHURCH – For our children aged 4 to 8 years
We would love to welcome any children to our Little Church during Mass on Sundays.  Emma O’Hare and her team of volunteers provide a programme of fun, active learning and teaching based on the readings for that Sunday.  Parents will be able to enjoy the benefits of remaining in church secure in the knowledge that their children are receiving valuable – and enjoyable – instruction.
If any parents would like to join Emma’s team, please contact her on 07813 275574 or contact the Parish Office and our Safeguarding Officer Keren Standing, will organise this for you.

BAPTISM
We welcome in to our parish community FABIANA SANTOS TEXEIRA, who was baptised here recently.  Please remember Fabiana and her family in your prayers.

1^ST COMMUNION PREPARATION
Our children will be meeting after Mass next Sunday, for their 3^rd session, which will focus on helping them to prepare to make their first confessions next month – a really important step towards deepening their relationship with Our LOrd.

MUSIC FOR AN AUTUMN EVENING: Saturday 26 November
Our local residents’ charity, Hesketh Bank & Tarleton Helpers is presenting a music evening with hotpot supper in our church hall on 26 November.  Guest singers include the Hoghton Players G & S Society and local singer Kirstie Mitchell.  The bar will be open and there will also be a raffle.  This promises to be a great evening’s entertainment and all funds raised will be going to support the vital work of our local foodbanks. Tickets are £7 each and are available from Diane Mackley on 01772 815508.  Please inform her of any dietary requirements.  Deadline for numbers: 19 November.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE & FAYRE – SUNDAY 18 DECEMBER
This year sees the very welcome return of our Christmas activities, so please make a note in your diaries. 
Our Carol Service will be held on Sunday 18 December, at 6pm.
Afterwards, everyone is warmly invited to bring family and friends to the church hall for some seasonal refreshments in the hall, to help get the Christmas season started with a swing.

There is a list in the porch for you to sign, to indicate how you might help us make this year’s Christmas Fayre really special.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION – MESSAGE FROM THE ARCHDIOCESE
Registration for Confirmations of Year 8 children (or above) will open on 16^th January and end on 6^th March 2023. During that time, Catholic high schools will be bringing this information to pupils’ attention. Some preparation will be provided through school and some will be online. PLEASE CONSIDER OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED IN OUR PARISH
We are very grateful for offers of help already, with regards to gardening jobs and keeping the grounds of the church neat and tidy.  Thank you!
However, there are still a number of opportunities for our parishioners to become a bit more involved in parish life and your help is both needed and much appreciated.  Areas where help is needed include with the Little Church group on Sundays, singing with the choir, flower arranging, church cleaning, altar serving and some serious fund-raising.  Help is welcome from all ages, and advice / training will be provided. Please contact the Parish Office by email or ring on Thursdays, in order to find out more.

HELP FOR RESIDENTS & OUR LOCAL FOODBANK: We will continue to support the amazing work being done by Rev Dave Dickinson at All Saint’s in Hesketh Bank, by collecting non-perishable foodstuffs for local families.  Thank you for all donations made so far.  They are helping to support three local families who are really struggling at the moment.  This is likely to increase as fuel prices start to have an effect this autumn and winter.  Please let Diane Mackley know if you have any concerns about neighbours over the next few months and we’ll do our best to help them, 01772 815508.

UKRAINE APPEAL – INTERNATIONAL AID TRUST
The IAT remains grateful for any further help: medical supplies / foodstuffs.  Donations may be left in the church hall on Thursdays between 11am and 3pm. Alternatively, you can bring donations to Mass and leave in the porch.  Thank you to many of you who have already left donations.
